Responsibilities
- Performs and supervises modality daily operations and provides leadership relative to the assigned area (70% patient care, 30% supervisory functions).
- Promotes and advocates imaging services by staying abreast of the latest changes in technology and equipment.
- Ensures accreditation standards are maintained and performs tasks involving the operation of CT equipment and related devices.
- Coordinates patient flow and provides guidance to staff technologists.
- Provides patient care and high-quality images.
- Performs image file management in PACS.
- Directs daily departmental operations, including staffing schedules and annual evaluations.
- Oversees orientation and continuing education programs for employees.
- Manages supplies and contains costs.
- Promotes customer service excellence.
- Performs all accreditation responsibilities required by the American College of Radiology.
- Must be competent and proficient in positioning, selecting correct protocols, and utilizing imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited hospital-based training program.
- 3 years of technical experience (experience in leadership of personnel preferred).
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with certification in computed tomography (CT) (required upon hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required upon hire).
