Lead Critical Facilities Technician
Job Summary
The Lead Critical Facilities Technician will support Critical Facilities and Data Center Operations Teams within the Engineering Operations Department at a leading data center and cloud infrastructure provider. Key responsibilities include leading operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical infrastructure, monitoring BMS/DCIM systems, acting as a shift lead, training and mentoring junior team members, ensuring compliance with safety standards, performing audits, and supporting incident response.

- Data Center / Critical Facility Experience – Hands-on experience operating and maintaining mission-critical infrastructure environments
- Electrical & Mechanical Systems Expertise – Strong knowledge of UPS, generators, switchgear, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH systems
- Leadership / Team Oversight – Experience leading technicians, managing shifts, and mentoring junior team members
What’s the Job?
Lead operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, switchgear, HVAC, CRAC/CRAH)
Monitor BMS/DCIM systems and respond to alarms to maintain environmental stability
Act as Shift Lead, coordinating team workload, priorities, and escalations
Train and mentor L1/L2 technicians through hands-on guidance and structured OJT programs
Ensure compliance with safety standards, perform audits, and support incident response
What’s Needed?
- 5+ years of experience in a data center or critical facilities environment
- Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, generators, HVAC, cooling systems)
- 1+ year of leadership or team lead experience
- Knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA, LOTO, and NFPA 70E
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
