Lead Credit Risk Officer

As part of Wells Fargo's second line of defense and Independent Risk Management team, Risk Asset Review (RAR) is the independent credit review (oversight) function for Wells Fargo. RAR is responsible for independently assessing the quality of lending and ongoing management of credit risk within the Bank, including adherence to risk appetite, credit policy, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross-functional with broad impact and act as a key participant in driving the company credit culture, desire, and business performance for Credit Risk.
  • Review and analyze complex strategies, programs, and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite and culture.
  • Develop and utilize analysis capabilities to assist the commercial exam teams with examinations.
  • Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Interact with internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with business for oversight of risk management.
  • Interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk-related topics.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with consumer credit risk strategy development and monitoring in the financial services industry.
  • Previous experience with reviewing or underwriting consumer credits either in originations or loss mitigation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and advanced MS Office Suite product skills (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Word).
  • Ability to gather, analyze, package, and present analytical findings in an insightful and logical manner.
  • Ability to collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and achieve goals in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to provide credible challenge and candor to peers.

Job Expectations

  • Ability to work at one of the approved locations in the job posting.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
  • This position currently offers a hybrid schedule.

Pay

$139,000.00 - $239,000.00

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
