As part of Wells Fargo's second line of defense and Independent Risk Management team, Risk Asset Review (RAR) is the independent credit review (oversight) function responsible for assessing the quality of lending and ongoing management of credit risk within the Bank, including adherence to risk appetite, credit policy, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex initiatives, including cross-functional projects with broad impact, to drive the company’s credit culture, strategy, and business performance for Credit Risk.
- Review and analyze complex strategies, programs, and policies with a direct and significant impact on credit risk appetite and culture.
- Develop and utilize analytical capabilities to assist commercial exam teams with examinations.
- Exercise independent judgment while developing knowledge of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Interact with internal and external customers, including business partners, Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk-related topics.
- Provide oversight of risk management in collaboration with business units.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with consumer credit risk strategy development and monitoring in the financial services industry.
- Experience reviewing or underwriting consumer credits in originations or loss mitigation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to gather, analyze, package, and present analytical findings in an insightful and logical manner.
- Ability to collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and achieve goals in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to provide credible challenge and candor to peers.
Job Expectations

- This position currently offers a hybrid schedule.
Pay
$139,000.00 - $239,000.00 base pay range. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
