Lead Counselor (PO#2557, 2026-2027)

Primary Purpose

Provide a comprehensive program of guidance, including counseling services, to the assigned school population. Use a planning process to define needs and priorities of the population served. Implement and evaluate a proactive, developmental guidance program for all students to maximize personal growth and development.

Education/Certification Qualifications

Master's Degree in guidance and counseling
Valid Texas Counseling Certification
Valid Texas Teaching Certification (preferred)

Special Knowledge/ Skills

Knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career development.
Excellent organizational, communication, and intrapersonal skills.
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data.
Demonstration of counseling and guidance leadership.
Ability to assist with instructional programs and teaching effectiveness.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience (preferred).

Working Conditions

Minimum of 3 years of counseling experience.
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; may work prolonged or irregular hours.
