Lead Cost Analyst

Skills

• Apply technical skills to monitor, analyze, and report project cost performance.
• Interface directly with project management, client management, and site personnel for budget and cost metrics.
• Implement project controls tools and methodology.
• Support month-end closing and phase gate processes, coordinate, produce, manage, report, and analyze cost information.
• Establish project original and approved budgets.
• Work with project stakeholders to establish cost baselines.
• Develop project forecasts using estimates, schedules, purchase order open commitments, and inputs from project stakeholders.
• Review, explain basis for, and adjust project forecasts directly with Project Managers.
• Maintain and analyze actual project costs, calculate variances, and gather information to document variance explanations.
• Assemble supporting documentation to meet project team and client requests/needs.
• Analyze data and build reports to support project monitoring and decision-making.
• Interface regularly with project management to support monitoring cost performance.
• Potential for travel to client offices for project coordination meetings.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with practical application of project controls.
• 10+ years of project experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eager to learn new skills and develop knowledge.
• Willing to engage with others to understand project team needs.
• Committed to delivering high-quality, accurate deliverables with attention to detail.
• Working knowledge in MS Office tools, with emphasis on advanced use of MS Excel and/or PowerBI.
• Working knowledge in SAP.
• Related internship, co-op, or work experience in project controls, project planning, project scheduling, and earned value performance, preferably within the power industry.
• AACE CCT, or PMI Equivalent.
• Working towards AACE CCP, CEP, PSP, PRMP, EVP, or PMI Equivalent.
• In lieu of Professional Designation (i. or ii.) above, has completed equivalent training.
• Or in lieu of i.), ii.) or iii.) above, has successfully passed designated proficiency testing.
