About the role

The Cook Lead at Emeril’s Kitchen performs daily operation tasks while providing exceptional customer services to our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Affords assistance in managing the day-to-day operation of the assigned function (Food Hall) in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Affords assistance in administering training programs within the assigned function; counsels, guides, and instructs personnel in the proper performance of their duties.
  • Affords coordination of the maintenance and development of methods for quality preparation of food; affords assistance in the maintenance of procedures for food service and presentation of menu items for maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Affords assurance that available facilities are adequate for the performance of duties by assigned personnel.
  • Affords assistance in maintaining and instructing assigned personnel as to safety policies and procedures and follows up to ensure hazards are eliminated.
  • Affords monitoring of appearance of food served and communicates deviations from standard to the Kitchen Manager.
  • Show skills in grade manager, broiler, sauté' stations, saucier, and large quantity cooking according to recipe specifications.
  • Affords acting as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars and encourages others to do the same.
  • Affords meeting the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Familiarity with all phases of food preparation techniques is required.
  • A local Health Department sanitation certificate is required.
  • Three (3) or more years prior experience as a Line Cook or Lead experience is preferred.
  • Mobility and dexterity to move large, heavy objects up to 100 pounds is required.
  • Manual dexterity to include using kitchen utensils and handling of food items is required.
  • Ability to respond calmly and handle many customer demands in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Able to handle more than one function at a time by being well organized and paying attention to details is required.
  • Able to maneuver to all areas of the casino is required.
  • Able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area is required.
  • Able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations is required.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.
  • Able to respond to visual and aural cues is required.
