About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Controls & Instrumentation Lead to help lead and manage a project scope. This role will work directly with clients to understand project needs and help manage and direct the execution of engineering deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Develop and document the scope of work
- Size and specify instrumentation including pressure and temperature transmitters, flow meters, modulating control valves, regulators, on/off valves, and actuators
- Create datasheets and work with vendors to get quotes for instrumentation and valves for various applications
- Coordinate with process engineering team to select the appropriate devices
- Create schematics, termination drawings, or loop sheets for instrument wiring
- Design custom control panels to meet the project need
- Understand project success criteria and ensure client expectations are met
- Develop and track project costs
- Identify, document, and communicate changes to scope
- Identify and effectively respond to clients issues and needs
- Ensure value is provided to the client and develop & earn their trust
- Review and manage all project deliverables
- Coordinate and supervise project implementation, control project costs, monitor progress and quality of the project
- Oversee project execution to ensure completion and client satisfaction
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial spirit and excitement to add value to clients with Jedson’s engineering expertise
- Strong communication skills, collaboration, and courage to challenge the status quo
- Highest proficiency in programming Honeywell Experion DCS and hardware selection
- Minimum requirement of Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school; B.S. degree in Engineering preferred
- 10+ years of related experience in project engineering, including EPC or engineering firm experience
- Familiar with industrial automation and IT structure and configuration including server configuration, networking, Historian
- Demonstrated experience driving projects within budget from initiation through a successful and timely conclusion
- Knowledge of front-end engineering and detailed engineering process
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and foster positive client relationships
- Able to mentor junior automation specialists in systems, practices, and procedures
