Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of current coding revisions and efficiently communicates changes to staff.
- Keeps up to date with current coding guidelines and education updates.
- Advocates for customer service, monitors and provides feedback to staff, responds to issues, queries and concerns as needed and in a timely manner.
- Learns and communicates clinical coding requirements to the team and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- Supports coding supervisor in assisting coding staff in resolving coding issues and provides coding support and training.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- CPC, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CCM.
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS and CPT coding methodologies.
- Navigation of inpatient and outpatient clinical records, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, DRGs, HACs, HAIs, HCCs, POAs, PSIs.
- Professionalism and communication skills with experience in leading a team in a healthcare setting.
- 4-5 years’ experience in a related field.
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS and CPT coding methodologies.

- Professionalism and communication skills with experience in leading a team in a healthcare setting.

- Excellent understanding of clinical coding requirements.
- Ability to communicate these to the team and other stakeholders as appropriate.
