Responsibilities
- Vendor Management & Commercial Ownership
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for hyperscale public cloud providers, building and maintaining senior-level vendor relationships across regions.
- Lead commercial and contractual negotiations for significant cloud service agreements, including pricing, capacity commitments, service levels, and commercial remedies.
- Manage ongoing vendor performance, including capacity delivery, service incidents, SLA enforcement, credits, and commercial claims.
- Cloud Sourcing Strategy & Market Intelligence
- Conduct public cloud market, pricing, and competitive analysis across regions and availability zones to inform sourcing decisions.
- Define and maintain cloud sourcing strategies, including provider mix, regional expansion, commitment structures, and pricing models.
- Develop business cases and recommendations for executive review and approval related to cloud sourcing investments.
- Process Excellence & Internal Commercial Governance
- Lead cost modeling, deal structuring, and financial analysis to support cloud sourcing proposals and pricing approvals.
- Drive internal commercial processes, including pricing reviews, financial approvals, and executive decision workflows.
- In close partnership with internal engineering, capacity planning, finance, legal, and operations teams, translate infrastructure demand into executable cloud sourcing strategies and drive executive-level decision-making on cloud sourcing investments.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex commercial, technical, and financial issues.
- Demonstrated track record of executing large-scale public cloud sourcing or procurement deals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex topics and influence executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Strong work ethic and ownership mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments and manage time-sensitive, high-impact initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or cloud sourcing within the technology industry.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $189,800 - $384,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work; this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
