Lead Cloud Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior AWS Full Stack Engineer / Application Tech Lead to join our team and lead the development of enterprise-level cloud-native applications. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will spend the majority of your time designing, developing, and enhancing applications while providing technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers. This is not a DevOps role; we are looking for a strong software engineer with deep AWS development experience who can lead technical decisions, perform code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and serve as the technical expert across multiple applications.

Location: 100% Remote (EST/CST candidates only). Type: Contract-to-Hire (expected conversion after approximately 6 months). Eligibility: U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder (no sponsorship available).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support enterprise-scale applications using modern cloud technologies
• Build and enhance cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services
• Serve as a technical lead and mentor for a team of approximately 10 developers
• Provide architecture guidance, code reviews, and technical direction
• Estimate development efforts for new business initiatives
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive technical solutions
• Collaborate with development teams and business stakeholders

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with React, Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Proven experience building and supporting production applications in AWS
• Strong knowledge of AWS services including:
  • Lambda
  • API Gateway
  • S3
  • DynamoDB
  • RDS
• Experience serving as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Senior Engineer
• Ability to mentor developers while remaining hands-on with coding
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting legacy applications built with .NET (helpful but not required)
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and modern software delivery practices
