Lead Cloud Engineer

About the role

As a Lead Cloud Engineer at Capgemini, you will support the Cloud Service Line. We are looking for a professional with extensive experience in leading Cloud teams and coordinating offerings such as Cloud Advisory, Cloud Architecture, FinOps, and migration programs to public and hybrid clouds. In this role, you will be a key player in the following activities:

• Lead the Cloud Service Line by defining, evolving, and implementing technical offerings (Cloud Advisory, Cloud Architecture, FinOps, migration programs), ensuring high standards in architecture and service quality.
• Oversee the Platform Team (IaC, Container, DevOps, SRE) by ensuring the adoption of modern tools and frameworks, defining scalable infrastructure architectures, and applying automation best practices.
• Define reference architectures, technical guidelines, and cloud-native patterns for complex projects, supporting the team in engineering decisions and advanced troubleshooting.
• Ensure end-to-end technical governance of cloud projects (assessment, design, migration, operations), monitoring KPIs for resilience, performance, security, cost optimization, and compliance.
• Contribute to pre-sales activities by providing technical-specialist support: requirements evaluation, multi-cloud/hybrid solution design, complex estimates, client workshops, PoCs, and technical offer reviews.
• Drive the adoption of modern methodologies (DevOps, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, container orchestration) and introduce new technologies/tools to increase automation, reliability, and observability of Cloud systems.

Requirements

• Consolidated experience in the IT sector, with a strong background in Cloud and managerial roles.
• Managerial skills: experience in managing multidisciplinary and distributed teams, with strong leadership and organizational abilities. Ability to plan activities, manage delivery, and monitor results (KPIs/OKRs). Experience in coordinating complex projects ensuring timelines, costs, and quality.
• Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with excellent communication and relational skills.
• Strategic vision, innovation-oriented mindset, and ability to anticipate trends in Cloud computing.
• Strong results orientation, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Skills

Mandatory:

• Experience in Cloud Advisory, Cloud Architecture, and migration programs to public and hybrid clouds.
• Proficiency in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation), and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and SRE principles.

Pay

Annual gross salary (RAL): from €37,791 to €75,000. The indicated salary range complies with European and national regulations on pay transparency. The minimum value corresponds to the minimum economic treatment provided by the applicable national collective agreement (CCNL) for the specified level and role and does not necessarily represent the entry-level salary. The salary offered at the end of the selection process will be determined based on skills, professional experience, seniority level, and specific characteristics of the selected profile, in line with the company’s remuneration and classification system, respecting objective and gender-neutral criteria.

Permanent contract under the CCNL Metalmeccanico – level A1.
