About the role
The Lead Clinical Therapist provides clinical oversight and direct therapeutic services within our residential treatment program. This role is ideal for an experienced clinician who thrives in both leadership and hands-on care — balancing supervision of staff with maintaining a small caseload.
Responsibilities
- Provide weekly clinical and administrative supervision to a team of therapists.
- Offer guidance in case management, ethics, and professional growth.
- Serve as the clinical point of contact for complex cases.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new clinical hires.
- Maintain a reduced caseload of adolescent residents.
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based approaches.
- Offer crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed.
- Ensure documentation meets all ethical, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Review clinical outcomes and make recommendations for program improvement.
- Collaborate with utilization review staff to ensure documentation supports medical necessity.
- Lead weekly clinical team meetings and case conferences.
- Work closely with psychiatrists, counselors, nurses, and residential staff.
- Cook up with community agencies to ensure seamless discharge planning and follow-up care.
Requirements
- Education & Licensure: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field. Active LCSW, LPC, or LMFT license in the State of Virginia (required).
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a clinical or residential treatment setting working with adolescents. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership abilities. Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Dedicated to ethical, compliant, and compassionate clinical practice.

$80,000 – $85,000 per year
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday (occasional flexibility may be required)
