Lead Clinical Pharmacist

About the role

The Lead Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for coordinating clinical pharmacy services and ensuring that the pharmacy provides optimal clinical services on a daily basis. The lead clinical pharmacist facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy Program with current licensure as a pharmacist in state of practice.
• Preferably have completed an ASHP accredited residency program or other advanced training.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Clinical Pharmacist and 2 years’ experience in a supervisory/management or coordinator position in a hospital pharmacy.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide pharmaceutical services appropriate to the age of the patients served on an assigned unit.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of practice.
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Strong knowledge of pharmacology and drug therapy.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Hours are typically Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend coverage as needed.
