Lead Civil Structural Engineer
Your Job Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Lead Civil Structural Engineer to join the team in Katy, TX. This role offers a hybrid work model (approximately 3 days on-site per week) and is open to candidates willing to relocate. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with Project Managers and other engineering disciplines to develop and execute an effective project design strategy for civil and structural requirements.
- Mentor and knowledge share with junior staff engineers.
- Prepare the scope of work, technical specifications, and all required drawings for documentation in bid packages.
- Interact with suppliers and contractors to resolve construction and engineering design issues.
- Provide project and field construction support, including troubleshooting and evaluation of existing civil/structural systems.
- Assist in defining project scopes and estimates, execute structural design, and support project construction.
- Review incoming RFIs/Submittals and expedite responses.
- Participate in final design coordination meetings and approve modifications.
- Conduct walk-downs with site representatives to verify proper installations.
- Engineer structural steel supports, pipe racks, modular skids, and platforms.
- Design foundations for racks & structures, vertical & horizontal vessels, pumps, compressors, and balance of plant foundations for gas plants.
- Promote and participate in Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) work culture, enforcing regulations and adhering to current codes and standards.
- Participate in proposal preparation activities, including estimates for materials, field manhours, and engineering hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Gas treatment and/or natural gas structural design experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Direct client and vendor interface experience.
