About the role
The Lead Civil Municipal Engineer will play a pivotal role in managing multiple projects for various clients, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Planning, developing, coordinating, and directing multiple projects for a variety of clients
- Maintaining close relationships with clients throughout the development of projects and after completion
- Maintaining an understanding of relevant regulatory programs, funding opportunities, design standards and procedures through active participation in continuing education programs and professional associations
- Representing SEH with agencies at project and public meetings
- Preparing project approaches, scopes and fees required to complete projects
- Presenting proposals to clients, interviewing for projects, and selecting project teams
- Determining major project design decisions in conjunction with clients
- Mentoring staff of engineering professionals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Minnesota
- Established relationships with municipal clients or potential clients in and throughout the state of MN
- Experience in project management
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities and win project proposals
- Capable of scoping, budgeting, and coordinating sub-consultants; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Able to attend and present at municipal/public meetings
- Able to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, business development excursions, on-site inspections/visits, etc.; occasional overnight travel may be required
- Able to report into the Brainerd SEH office a minimum of 3-4 days per week
Qualifications
- Ten (10) or more years of previous experience
- Previous experience managing construction inspection staff
- Previous experience with municipal street and utility design/construction
- Previous experience with a variety of civil design/construction projects
- Previous experience managing a staff of engineering professionals and serving as a technical mentor for junior level staff

SEH offers a comprehensive benefits package including paid family leave, flexible holidays, and a base compensation range of $110,000 to $135,000 based on skill set and experience.

Schedule
