Responsibilities
- Utilizes imaging, computer and other equipment to produce and retain high quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the human anatomy, physiology, and image quality.
- Prepares patients for the procedure, educates, and responds to questions or concerns.
- Ensures age-appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education, and principles of physical/functional growth and development.
- Demonstrates understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques.
- Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training.
- Serves as a unit lead technologist supporting department techs and addressing shift concerns as appropriate.
- Affords assistance to the imaging services leaders in meeting department satisfaction, Regulatory, and budgetary goals.
- Collaborates with leadership in coordinating the development, review, and/or approval of policy and procedures, emergency preparedness, film badge reports, staff training, radiation exposure concerns, and radiation safety committee and regulatory requirements.
