Lead Carpenter (Residential Remodeling)
Location: Stratham, NH (30-mile radius preferred)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join a growing residential remodeling company serving luxury homes throughout Rockingham County, NH and Southern York County, ME. This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter who takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship and has experience managing residential remodeling projects from demolition through final finish work. The Lead Carpenter will perform hands-on carpentry while coordinating daily job site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead residential remodeling projects from start to finish.
- Perform rough and finish carpentry on luxury residential homes.
- Complete kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects.
- Install cabinets, trim, crown molding, baseboards, doors, and windows.
- Perform framing, drywall installation and repairs.
- Install flooring including hardwood, engineered flooring, LVP, and tile.
- Build decks, porches, and exterior wood structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Coordinate daily work with subcontractors and homeowners.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Ensure projects meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Troubleshoot field issues and recommend solutions.
- Operate power tools and construction equipment safely.
Requirements
- 5+ years of residential carpentry experience.
- Experience leading remodeling projects.
- Strong finish carpentry skills.
- Kitchen and bathroom remodeling experience.
- Framing and structural carpentry knowledge.
- Cabinet installation experience.
- Window and door installation.
- Drywall finishing and repairs.
- Blueprint reading skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on luxury residential homes.
- Tile installation experience.
- Basic plumbing or electrical knowledge.
- OSHA certification.
- Ability to supervise apprentices or helpers.
