About the role
To provide patient appointment scheduling, reception, clerical and customer service functions to all patients, visitors, and employees. These functions include: scheduling appointments, patient reception, appointment check-in, insurance verification and other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments
- Handle patient reception and check-in
- Verify insurance information
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years office clerical experience, including a minimum of three years in a medical office setting
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in a personable and professional manner
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
- Strong computer skills; prefer experience with electronic medical record
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a fast-paced healthcare setting with patients, families and healthcare personnel
- Organize and prioritize work independently
Qualifications
- Graduate of a formal training program in medical reception, an equivalent program, or a customer service program preferred
- Experience in a healthcare setting and EPIC
- Competency in medical terminology and health care business environment is preferred
