Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
- Conduct specialized maintenance work as required, including:
- Operation and maintenance of heavy machinery (e.g., excavators/graders)
- Maintenance of vehicles
- Basic millwork and carpentry repairs
- Roadways and grounds maintenance
- Maintenance of dock locks and levelers
- Maintenance of door systems
- Roofing repairs
- Delegating and directing the activities of outside contractors where needed, including setting priorities, performing quality control checks, and certifying invoices.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.
- Complete electronic or paper-based records of maintenance tasks.
- Plan and direct maintenance operations under supervision.
- Solve problems for the team.
- Instruct team members on proper maintenance techniques and provide hands-on training.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- 5+ years’ experience in the maintenance field with commercial experience.
- Ideal 1+ years of leadership involvement leading a maintenance support team.
- Skills in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and repairing or replacing faulty parts.
- Coordinating efforts to uphold operational standards.
- Responding promptly to maintenance issues.
- Blend of technical expertise and leadership skills.
- Prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Advanced organizational skills.
