Lead BMS Software Support

Piper Companies is seeking a Lead BMS Software Support professional to join a growing leader in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology space for a contract, onsite position located in Clayton, NC.

About the role

The Lead BMS Software Support will lead the design, integration, and continuous improvement of building management systems (BMS) to ensure optimal performance, compliance, and reliability across pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead internal and external teams, including system integrators, to ensure successful BMS project execution and system reliability.
• Provide hands-on expertise in Siemens, Rockwell, and Wonderware platforms to optimize building automation performance.
• Oversee BMS-connected equipment (chillers, boilers, AHUs) to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to support integration with systems like Kepware, PI, and CAHS.
• Recommend and implement continuous improvements for BMS and VDS AVEVA systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in BMS, automation, or related technical fields, with leadership of internal and external teams.
• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens, Rockwell, Wonderware, and PLC-based control systems.
• 2+ years of project management experience, including scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Experience in cGMP pharmaceutical environments with knowledge of FDA regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.

Pay

Salary Range: $65–$75/hour (USD)
