Key Responsibilities
- Serves as a mentor and coach, sharing knowledge and expertise effectively with Biomedical and utility technicians.
- Assures clean and orderly service area, providing a safe environment for service personnel.
- Responsible for meeting individual and department productivity goals.
- Works closely with leadership to improve current processes and procedures to deliver unparalleled quality results to customers and center.
- Certified with inventory processes, device management software, utility technician responsibilities and must complete all required training as directed by leader.
- Assists with resolving technical challenges and training biomedical and utility technicians.
- May be required to assist with internal or external audits and/or inspections.
- May be required to obtain licensing and/or certifications to meet compliance needs for the center.
- Must be familiar with management quality systems (ISO 13485).
- Demonstrates a strong ability to build and foster relationships with customers, account specialists, internal resources and leadership to solve technical problems and complaints.
- As a competent Lead Biomedical Technician, candidate must be capable of performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of biomedical equipment.
- The Lead Biomedical Technician also possesses strong knowledge of a biomed center and the people skills necessary to act as local supervisor of the team during leader absence. Expected to serve as a mentor for fellow biomed and utility technicians to improve the competency and efficiency of our technicians.
- The Lead Biomedical Technician is expected to drive business growth and productivity improvement initiatives, as well as demonstrate boundaryless teamwork and assist in any function and/or role within the Biomed Center.
Minimum Qualifications
- Typically requires 5+ years of related experience
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in the biomedical field.
- Demonstrated relationship and coaching skills.
- Advanced knowledge of biomedical devices serviced in house or extensive experience in a related field.
- Advanced ability to troubleshoot and repair medical devices.
- Able to perform all job tasks at a high level of quality and detail, meeting or exceeding productivity expectations.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable standards (SOPs and work instructions) in performing job duties.
- Good decision-making skills.
- Able to prioritize work.
- Able to remain flexible and respond to changing priorities while remaining focused on results.
- Organized with strong time management, communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrates aptitude to learn the advanced use of biomedical systems (i.e., OneTrack) and various device testing software.
- Cursory knowledge and understanding of theory of operation of ventilator and respiratory devices. Certification not required but must be able to coach and mentor vent qualified technicians.
- Strong commitment to the McKesson i2Care and iLead principles.
- Promotes a customer-patient centric culture.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft office tools.
- Able to lift 50+lbs.
