Lead Azure DevOps Engineer

About the role

This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity in Raleigh, NC with a large enterprise company. The organization is heavily investing in Azure cloud, DevOps engineering, and Infrastructure as Code using Bicep and YAML pipelines to support a growing platform used across multiple development teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive consistency, best practices, and standardization across more than 10 application teams that are continuously shipping code.
• Operate as a DevOps leader with SRE style ownership.
• Partner directly with application development teams, especially in .NET environments.
• Own architecture decisions and improve engineering maturity at scale.

Requirements

• 7+ years in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Engineering
• 4+ years of hands-on Azure experience in enterprise environments
• Strong expertise in Azure DevOps and YAML pipeline architecture
• Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically ARM and Bicep
• Experience designing reusable CI CD pipelines and templates
• Strong scripting experience with PowerShell and Bash
• Experience supporting or working alongside .NET application teams
• Strong understanding of Git workflows, branching strategy, and releases
• Proven ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives without direct authority
• Familiarity with Terraform in addition to Bicep
• Exposure to GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
• Experience with Kubernetes, AKS, or containerized environments
• Experience with observability tooling such as Azure Monitor or Log Analytics
• Background in telecom, retail, or large-scale enterprise environments
• Azure certifications such as AZ 400, AZ 305, or AZ 104
