About the role

We're seeking a Lead AWS Cloud Platform Engineer to join a major cloud transformation initiative. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior cloud professional who enjoys building secure, scalable, and highly automated AWS environments while leading modernization efforts across enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Lead cloud platform engineering initiatives focused on security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
  • Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Python and Ansible.
  • Support cloud migration, modernization, and microservices adoption initiatives.
  • Implement and manage Kubernetes-based container platforms.
  • Drive DevOps and CI/CD best practices across development teams.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on cloud architecture and platform strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience in production environments.
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and EKS.
  • Strong expertise with Terraform, Ansible, Python, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong Linux administration and scripting skills.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira, and Artifactory.
  • AWS Certification (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar) required.
  • Previous leadership experience driving cloud or platform transformation initiatives.

Preferred Skills

  • Amazon EKS, ECS, and Docker experience.
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience.
  • Monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, AppDynamics, or Jaeger.
  • Agile/Scrum experience.
  • Exposure to AI/ML services on AWS, including SageMaker and Bedrock.
