About the role

This position serves as a Lead Avionics Maintenance Technician at West Star Aviation, a rapidly expanding MRO provider. Key responsibilities include leading a team to ensure timely and accurate completion of high-quality work, troubleshooting aircraft systems, and managing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technicians to achieve timely and accurate results
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical, electronic, and instrument systems
  • Process work orders, logbook entries, and FAA forms
  • Coordinate interdepartmental schedules and provide production support
  • Direct the work and flow of multiple projects
  • Supervise team members in daily operations and duties
  • Perform general avionics support tasks, including panel and component removal/installation and repair work
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems as needed
  • Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components as required
  • Maintain shop facility, equipment, and tooling to support operations
  • Ensure adherence to FAA guidelines and company policies
  • Work independently and lead multiple projects
  • Handle customer inquiries and requests

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent
  • Electrical tech school
  • Aircraft specific factory training preferred
  • A valid driver's license for airline travel and/or a valid passport (optional)
  • 8+ years of prior experience in aircraft maintenance/avionics, including supervision of four or more team members
  • An advanced knowledge of FAA paperwork, work orders, and Corridor systems
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime
  • Basic personal computer operations

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft electrical, electronic, and instrument systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems
  • Good judgment in handling day-to-day tasks

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.
