About the role

This position serves as a Lead Avionics Maintenance Technician at West Star Aviation, a rapidly expanding MRO provider with facilities across the United States. The role involves supervising a team of technicians to ensure timely and accurate completion of high-quality work. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting aircraft systems, managing workloads, and coordinating projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technicians to achieve timely and accurate results
  • Perform aircraft electrical, electronic, and instrument system troubleshooting and repairs
  • Manage work orders, logbook entries, and FAA forms
  • Coordinate interdepartmental schedules and provide production support
  • Directly supervise multiple technicians and manage their daily tasks
  • Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects as assigned
  • Handle customer interactions and maintain a customer-oriented work ethic
  • Supervise team members in daily operations and duties
  • Complete work orders and FAA paperwork

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent
  • Electrical tech school or relevant training
  • Aircraft-specific factory training preferred
  • A valid driver's license for airline travel or a valid passport (optional)
  • 8+ years of prior experience in aircraft maintenance and avionics, including supervision of four or more team members
  • An advanced knowledge of FAA paperwork, work orders, and Corridor systems

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
  • Ability to attend work regularly and notify supervisor of absences
  • Basic personal computer operations

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
