Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians to produce timely results that are of the highest quality and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical, electronic, and instrument systems.
• Perform parts replacement or repair, electrical troubleshooting, inspection of aircraft or systems, and general mechanic application.
• Supervise the team and direct project flow; coordinate overall work flow for projects.
• Process work orders, log book entries, required FAA forms, and pricing to customers.
• Work independently and lead multiple projects; maintain direct customer contact.
• Lead the team to complete necessary jobs/tasks; use good judgment in handling day-to-day tasks and know when to involve management.
• Implement opportunities to reduce aircraft turn time; train/mentor assigned technicians.
• Supervise team members in daily workload and perform general avionics support items on aircraft (e.g., removal and installation of panels and components).
• Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems; inspect and evaluate aircraft and components.
• Verify aircraft movement and performance of systems; maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
• Coordinate interdepartmental schedules and act as production support for the manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Electrical tech school.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport.
• 8+ years prior experience on aircraft maintenance/avionics, including supervision of four or more team members.
• Advanced knowledge of FAA paperwork, work orders, and use of Corridor systems.

Physical Requirements

• Lift at least 50 lbs.
• Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting.
• Repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
• Basic personal computer operations.

• Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
• Work with others in a professional manner; coordinate projects.
• Team management skills.

Supervision

• Directly supervise multiple technicians.
• Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Operations Manager.
• Collaborate with other Team Leaders on multiple projects.

Working Conditions

• Majority of work in a hangar environment (hot or cold temperatures).
• Work outside during aircraft runs; varied positions in and around the aircraft.

Equipment Used

• Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
• Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment; jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
• Tugs, power carts, and other engine-powered equipment.
• Personal computer and work order prints.
