Lead Automation QA Engineer
About the role
ADP is seeking a Lead Automation QA Engineer who is empathic to client needs and thrives in collaborative environments to find the best solutions. This role is critical to ensuring the deployment of high-quality, reliable cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) and benefits solutions. You will work within an agile team, leveraging tools like Cypress, Playwright, MABL, and JavaScript/Cucumber-based automation frameworks to create comprehensive test suites. Additionally, you will use Gen AI tools to accelerate test creation, improve coverage analysis, and drive smarter testing strategies. Your leadership will help advocate for changes that enhance the end-user experience of our HCM and benefits products.
This role requires curiosity, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to work across complex domains such as health insurance, employee benefits, and enrollment systems. You will own the test automation strategy for your product features, mentor junior QA professionals, and drive quality standards across the team. Flexibility is a must, as testing doesn’t always occur during regular business hours.

- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) for automated testing, ensuring fast and reliable feedback loops for the development team.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman and Axios, and conduct performance testing to ensure backend service integrity across ADP's benefits and enrollment platforms.
- Conduct cross-browser, responsive design, and accessibility testing. Implement automated accessibility checks aligned with WCAG guidelines to ensure inclusive product experiences.
- Communicate and collaborate with technical developers, business stakeholders, and multiple product owners to articulate clear and compelling reasons for product changes that benefit the end user.
- Stay current with emerging testing technologies, frameworks, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Mentor team members in automation best practices, accessibility standards, and emerging testing technologies. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Own the test automation strategy for your product features, including building plans, assigning tasks, identifying gaps, and solving problems.
