Lead Automation Controls Design Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Automation Controls Design Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This role will lead the design and deployment of automation control solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and performance across industrial operations. You will partner with senior engineering stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop PLC-based systems, support installation and commissioning, and ensure solutions meet global industry standards. The position also involves testing, debugging, and documenting control systems to support successful delivery and long-term maintainability. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually Responsibilities Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and deploy PLC programs for industrial automation Design HMI and SCADA systems to enhance operational efficiency in industrial processes Contribute to hardware design, ensuring compliance with global industry standards Conduct rigorous testing and debugging of PLC programs and hardware systems Create and maintain documentation for PLC programs and system configurations Support cross-functional teams during system installation and commissioning phases Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field, or 6+ years of relevant experience Familiarity with PLC programming concepts such as ladder logic and function block diagrams Hands-on experience in HMI/SCADA development Competence in at least one programming language is preferred Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship Benefits Great work environment Professional development opportunities Challenging career paths Competitive compensation Relocation assistance provided Remote work flexibility Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
