Athletic Trainer Career

Serving as a Lead Athletic Trainer for Cognito Systems within the Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program at Fort Stewart, GA, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing Soldier performance and health. Your responsibilities include:

• Serving as the Brigade Lead Athletic Trainer and principal advisor to the Injury Control Director on acute care, injury control, reconditioning, and performance optimization.
• Coordinating with the Brigade H2F Strength and Conditioning team, Fitness Trainers, and the Brigade Command Sergeant Major to support unit training programs.
• Ensuring education, instruction, and guidance to Soldiers and Brigade leadership is aligned with the Brigade training calendar.
• Providing an overview briefing to new Soldiers, covering AT services, reasons to seek AT services, and availability details.
• Ensuring safe and effective operation of equipment and supplies, reporting any deficiencies or needs to the Brigade Program Director.
• Completing monthly status reports emphasizing recommendations, best practices, and lessons learned.
• Attending and participating in meetings with Brigade leadership as requested or required.
• Preparing and submitting reports as requested by the Brigade Program Director and Injury Control Director/clinical supervisor.
• Participating in meetings with other H2F Performance Team members and medical personnel as requested or required.
• Performing other tasks within the scope of the AT position description, as assigned.
• Maintaining timely completion of required documentation, including Monthly Status Reports, peer reviews, and other necessary paperwork.
• Leading H2F Program reviews to identify best practices and lessons learned, and recommending areas for improvement.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for Cognito Systems, relaying information and collaborating with the Project Manager as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field such as Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, etc., from an accredited university.
• Unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands to provide health care within the scope of practice for Athletic Trainers per state practice acts.
• Five years of relevant Athletic Training work experience.
• Experience working with active populations (e.g., military, high school, collegiate, professional sports, performing arts, occupational health).
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• Current physical and immunizations.
