Athletic Trainer Careers
Serving as a Lead Athletic Trainer for Cognito Systems, you will play a pivotal role in the U.S. Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program at Fort Leonard Wood. Your responsibilities include:
- Serve as Brigade Lead Athletic Trainer and principal advisor to the Injury Control Director on acute care, injury control, reconditioning, and performance optimization.
- Coordinate with the Brigade H2F Strength and Conditioning team, Fitness Trainers, and Brigade Command Sergeant Major to support unit development and training programs.
- Ensure education, instruction, and guidance to Soldiers and Brigade leadership within the scope of practice is synchronized with the Brigade training calendar.
- Provide an overview brief to new Soldiers, including AT introduction, services offered, reasons to seek AT services, and availability.
- Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment and supplies, reporting any deficiencies or needs to the Brigade Program Director.
- Complete Monthly Status Reports with recommendations, best practices, and lessons learned.
- Attend and participate in meetings with Brigade leadership as requested or required.
- Review meeting notes/information from meetings if not present.
- Prepare and submit reports as requested by the Brigade Program Director and Injury Control Director/clinical supervisor.
- Participate in H2F Program reviews to identify best practices and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Act as the Point of Contact for Cognito Systems, relaying information and working with the Project Manager as requested.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
As a Lead Athletic Trainer, you will be expected to meet the following additional expectations:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a CAATE-accredited college or university, and a Master’s degree in a related field.
- Pass the BOC exam for Athletic Trainers.
- Hold a valid NPI.
- Obtain an unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- Have five years of relevant Athletic Training work experience, including experience with active populations.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, you must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a CAATE-accredited college or university.
- A Master’s degree in a related field.
- A passing score from the BOC exam for Athletic Trainers.
- A valid NPI.
- An unrestricted state license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- Five years of relevant Athletic Training work experience.
