Shift: Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (occasional Saturdays & Sundays).
Pay
- Entry through 4 years of employment: $23.70
- 5 years through 9 years of employment: $23.95
- 10 years through 14 years of employment: $24.20
- 15 years through 19 years of employment: $24.45
- 20+ years of employment: $24.70
Responsibilities
- Manually transport product, pallets, cages, etc. using hand carts, pallet jacks, and other equipment while following all safety protocols.
- Ensure all product is labeled, stacked, and wrapped correctly for shipping.
- Scan and track pallets from production to cooler.
- Verify and process required paperwork (e.g., Bill of Lading, receivers to purchasing, truck log and sheet, Production sheets for next shift).
- Verify and record cooler inventory/count accurately.
- Direct the work of others and serve as a “go-to” for questions and concerns in the absence of a supervisor or superintendent.
- Train lower-level associates as needed.
- Perform all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in shipping.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
- Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in hot, wet, and/or cold environments (45°F / 4°C).
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Exposure to noise (>85 decibels), CO₂, and moving production lines/equipment.
- Exposure to wet and dusty environments.
- May roll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs).
- Will work around live animals and odors.
Safety Requirements
- Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in designated areas.
