Lead Associate, Education - New Mexico (P2)
Role Overview
Save the Children's Impact & Evidence (I&E) division focuses on improving educational outcomes for children in rural America. Specifically, they aim to increase kindergarten readiness and grade-level literacy and math proficiency in under-resourced rural communities. This role involves providing leadership and support to program partners in New Mexico.

Remote – Must be based in San Juan County, New Mexico
What You’ll Be Doing
Guide and support program staff to ensure quality implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Save the Children’s program models according to established standards.
Provide in-person and remote training and technical assistance for program staff; maximize the use of technology to do so.
Visit each assigned site in compliance with the program model to conduct observation, coaching, and mentoring.
Complete site visit reports. In state travel will be required for each of the site visits.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date data collection and reporting for each assigned site.
Regularly communicate with the State Director and Advisors about program implementation challenges and successes and how to resolve complex issues.
Support the State Director with partner management including but not limited to annual partner planning, subaward budget and spending, grant budgets and reports, annual district/site stakeholder meetings, partnership performance management, sponsorship, and emergency/disaster communication and reporting.
Meet regularly with each site supervisor.
Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting and necessary follow-up.
Support the State Director with identification and assessment of new sites.
Provide new sites with start-up support including but not limited to hiring and training program staff, technology and program materials, and Partner Portal usage.
Attend meetings with school district personnel to troubleshoot education program implementation issues.
Observe programs in rural communities and provide technical assistance to partner staff.
Oversee the coordination and planning of onsite and virtual program component trainings.
Conduct analysis of program data and provide feedback to partner staff and Lead Associates to increase participant impact.
Develop action plans to increase impact at underperforming program sites.
Conduct follow-up and supervisory visits to organizations that have undergone training to provide technical assistance and facilitate implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of action plans.
Develop and maintain a trainee database to monitor trainees and further training needs.
Provide mentorship/coaching and technical assistance to the organizations that would like to improve their early education outcomes.
Become familiar with federal 21st CCLC donor requirements, prepare all required documents, follow up on partner requirements, attend all required trainings and submit quarterly program narrative reports.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience delivering literacy/reading and/or math education programs.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally.
Working knowledge of financial and subgrant management.
Excellent interpersonal communication and public speaking skills, demonstrated ability to convey clear understanding of issues related to poverty in rural communities.
Professional proficiency in MS Office suite.
Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
Willingness and ability to travel within the state up to 40% of the time. This position may require the incumbent to operate a motor vehicle to fulfill certain essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education.
Professional proficiency in spoken and written Spanish or Diné.
Experience developing and leading trainings for elementary education.
Experience coaching and supporting adults in an education or related area.
Experience with budget management.
