I can succeed as a Lead Architect at Capital Group

  • Define the observability control plane for modern distributed systems, multi-cloud platforms, and AI-driven workloads
  • Design and govern the end-to-end telemetry ecosystem
  • Establish standardized telemetry schemas, OpenTelemetry-based pipelines, and a unified signal model spanning logs, metrics, traces, events, and AI-specific telemetry
  • Extend observability into the emerging AI domain
  • Drive cross-layer architectural cohesion and align infrastructure, platform, application, and business observability
  • Establish patterns for service-level indicators and objectives, distributed tracing as a primary debugging primitive, and intelligent telemetry pipelines that support AIOps capabilities
  • Translate strategy into executable designs, define standards, reference architectures, and implementation patterns
  • Influence platform direction, resolve complex design tradeoffs, and ensure observability is embedded as a foundational capability for resilience, governance, and intelligent operations at scale

  • 10+ years of experience in software, platform, or enterprise architecture roles
  • 5+ years of experience focused on observability, monitoring, or operational platforms in cloud environments
  • A deep understanding of distributed systems observability (tracing, metrics at scale, and log aggregation)
  • A strong knowledge of OpenTelemetry concepts and telemetry pipelines
  • A working knowledge of AIOps concepts, including anomaly detection, alert correlation, and time-series analysis
  • Experience designing scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient cloud architectures (AWS preferred)
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills across engineering organizations
  • Experience with AI/LLM observability, security observability, or working in large-scale regulated environments (strong plus)

Southern California Base Salary Range:

$201,683-$322,693

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
