About the role

As a Lead Application Modernization Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the modernization efforts of our existing applications to ensure they are scalable, secure, and efficient. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, software developers, and operations personnel to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the modernization of legacy applications to align with current industry standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement new application architectures that enhance performance and reduce maintenance overhead.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and standards, conducting regular security assessments and implementing necessary controls.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation to guide future development and maintenance activities.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in application modernization, software development, or a related field.
• Proven track record of successfully leading complex projects from conception to completion.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies and containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and agile practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in modern application development (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Experience with database management systems and optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools).

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
