Lead Application Architect - Patient Care Technology

About the role

Designs and develops IT applications architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. Works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. This role is remote and intended for candidates based in the Louisville, Kentucky metropolitan area.

Responsible for EMR-related work and associated applications to support eCW to athena transition in collaboration across Humana enterprise teams. Performs technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products, services, applications, and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products and services proposed as standards to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications.

Advises executives to develop functional strategies on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, working under minimal supervision. Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop IT applications architecture solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Perform technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications.
• Develop specifications for new products, services, applications, and service offerings.
• Assess compatibility and integration of proposed products/services to ensure an integrated architecture.
• Advise executives on functional strategies for segment-specific matters.
• Lead EMR-related projects, including eCW to athena transition, collaborating across enterprise teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8 or more years of experience as a senior developer in large IT projects.
• Prior project lead experience.
• Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare APIs and interoperability patterns.
• Experience with SaaS products.
• Experience with integration engines used for interoperability.
• Knowledge and experience of agile delivery practices.

Work-At-Home Requirements

• Self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria: minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps; wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection suggested. Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections may be used only if approved by leadership.
• Employees in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi-weekly payment for internet expenses.
• Humana will provide telephone equipment appropriate to meet business requirements.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information.
• Occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay

The starting base pay range for this full-time (40 hours per week) position is $129,300 - $177,800 per year. Pay may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications, including skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications. This role is also eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
