Responsibilities
- Own analysis methodologies across programs, guide the team in advanced topics, and ensure compliance with standards.
- Define internal methodologies and standards, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
- Drive cross-disciplinary analysis strategies across programs, establish best practices for collaboration and data exchange, and promote versatility and continuous learning.
- Define CAE workflows, ensure consistency across projects, and review/approve FE models and results for critical components.
- Define strategy for tool development and digitalization, oversee tools lifecycle, training, and cross-functional integration.
- Own test-analysis integration across programs, establish best practices for prediction and correlation, and represent the analysis discipline in test planning and reviews.
- Lead Root Cause investigations from a technical standpoint, propose solutions, implement lessons learned, and find synergies across the product line/portfolio.
- Sign all dispositions and assume associated responsibilities.
- Develop strategies for data governance and digital continuity, summarize and communicate across projects, and prepare strategic-level reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Shape high-impact presentations for decision-makers.
- Be proficient in at least 2 engineering disciplines, understand challenges in other disciplines, and drive new technology adoption.
- Own all bidding and proposals for the discipline and lead cross-functional proposals.
- Lead discussions and decision-making processes, mentor others in reasoning, and serve as the reference for engineering judgment.
- Solve high-stakes ambiguous problems, weighing technical challenges with business inputs (e.g., cost, timeframe).
- Oversee discipline competencies, ensure staff is properly trained, identify and maintain key competences, and drive talent development strategies.
- Lead complex, cross-functional task initiatives, align execution with organizational strategies, and mentor teams in prioritization and focus strategies.
- Set the course of product development together with the respective product lead.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Aerospace, Mechanical, or other engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of analysis experience, including 10+ in the aerospace industry.
- Expert-level proficiency in FEA tools.
- Demonstrated technical authority in FEA.
- Advanced knowledge in detailed stress analysis, test prediction and correlation, and test plans definition.
- Demonstrated ability to define, review, and approve stress analysis methodologies.
- Experience in technical governance and competence development.
- Understands and complies with internal processes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relevant contact with external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace structures and components design and materials.
- Solid experience in composites, sandwich structures, and lightweight materials.
- Solid experience in shock, thermal, and acoustic analysis.
- Solid demonstrated experience in F&DT analysis.
- Knowledge of the space industry and market.
- Strong project management capabilities.
