LEAD AMI SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and production support for AMI applications, including Meter Asset Management Systems (MAMS), Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS), Head-End Systems (HES), and field service applications.
• Collaborate with vendors and business stakeholders to review release notes, coordinate upgrades, and implement application enhancements.
• Support application monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
• Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of in-house and vendor-based applications.
• Develop system designs, data models, APIs, process flows, use cases, and SDLC documentation.
• Analyze technology components for vendor support, licensing, cybersecurity compliance, and roadmap planning.
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Monitor application performance, ensure license compliance, and drive continuous service improvements.
• Establish operational processes, monitoring frameworks, and best practices to improve system reliability and operational excellence.
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance to engineers and support staff.

Required Skills

• Strong experience supporting Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) applications.
• Experience with MAMS, MDMS, HES, and field service management applications.
• Strong understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Experience with API design, system integration, data modeling, and application architecture.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis skills.
• Knowledge of application monitoring, operational support, and production support processes.
• Experience working with vendors, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, software licensing, and compliance requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in utility, energy, or smart metering environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and operational excellence practices.
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
