Lead Alarm Monitor

This position requires an active US DoD-issued CAC card or the ability to obtain an US DoD-issued CAC card to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation of assigned shift (3 other Alarm Monitors).
• Works with the COR/DES Supervisors to track down phone and radio recordings, response times and any other information needed to properly report an EXUM or Serious Incident Report if needed.
• Complies/supports all requirements of the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
• Maintains and operates multiple channel trunked radio system.
• Operates commercial intrusion detection and fire alarm monitoring computer systems.
• Documents emergency call and responder dispatch information in the CAD system.
• Monitors and operates multiple channel trunked radio system.
• Operates commercial intrusion detection and fire alarm monitoring computer systems.
• Documents daily dispatches and movement of vehicles and equipment resources during routine and emergency response events.
• Records benchmark events during incidents in the CAD.
• Conducts the daily test of radio systems, emergency dispatch tones and emergency phones in accordance with SOP/GTA.
• Records system deficiencies and makes applicable notifications in accordance with SOP/GTA.
• Records fire and intrusion alarm tests manually as required.
• Forwards all requests for copies of recordings to the COR of the contract.
• Contact Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC) if trunked radio system and or primary crash fails in accordance with SOP/GTA.
• Contact DES, ICIDS Administrator if ICIDS alarm system malfunctions.
• Contact support agencies for assistance as requested by emergency responders.
• Contact Directorate of Public Works (DPW) and Fire Department if fire alarms monitoring malfunction.
• Submit a DPW work order for any ICIDS Zone when in A/C Power Failure.
• Initiate fire incident reports; provide incident numbers, time, responding units, etc to the responsible Fire Station after each emergency.
• Communicate via radio or telephone to surrounding mutual aid Fire Departments and EMS providers as needed and or directed by Incident Commander.
• Contractor personnel will be responsible for the cleanliness of their workstations, restroom, locker/kitchen area and dispatching areas.
• Determines the nature of the phone call and may transfer caller to the appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) upon determining the location of the incident.
• Obtains, verifies, and records the location of the emergency, the name of the caller, the nature, severity and current status of the emergency, and obtains and other appropriate information needed to secure a full assessment of the circumstances.
• Operates automatic number identification (ANI), automatic location identification (ALI), telecommunications devices for the deaf (TTY/TDD) or other electronic devices to obtain and verify required data.
• Maintains a reassuring and calming manner with caller in order to obtain required information; persuades callers to stay on the line.
• In response to medical emergencies, provides guidance using the APCO EMD protocols until the arrival of professional medical assistance.
• In non-medical emergencies, provides precautionary instructions and advice to help assure the personal safety of person and/or to minimize the loss of property, pending the arrival of fire, police, and other assistance.
• Refers non-emergency situations to other appropriate public or private agencies, and may dispatch non-emergency personnel or equipment.
• Affords assistance in the training of new trainees under the supervision of the shift supervisor.
• Comply, adhere and remain in compliance with all ECC SOP/GTA.
• Completes all required reports for customer.
• Serves as alternate on site project manager when AOSPM is out-of-office.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of 911 dispatch experience (or equivalent).
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
• Capable of exercising sound judgment and making immediate, decisive actions during high-stress emergency and routine non-emergency scenarios.
• Capable of making immediate corrections to dispatchers during active operations.
• Prepare clear and factually accurate reports.
• Have the ability of hearing, eyesight, and finger/hand usage for operations, be of good health and mentally alert.

Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities Requested

• This position is considered essential employees, you must report for duty, remain on duty during inclement weather, declared emergencies, and/or elevated FPCON levels unless otherwise directed.
• Must be able to complete a 90-day training course held Monday-Friday 0800-1600.
• Successfully pass all required training and certifications required for this position including:
• APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator I.
• APCO Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD).
• HAZMAT Awareness.
• CPR.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Pay

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Lead Alarm Monitor: $20.14 per hour. Pay commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Mid Shift: 12 a.m. – 8 a.m. (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday)
