Lead AI/ML Engineer: Hybrid in Minnesota or DC, Remote elsewhere

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and implement AI/ML systems to derive information from patient data in a scalable, reliable, and cost-effective manner.
• Partner with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to translate business requirements into scalable AI systems.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools for design, implementation, code reviews, and testing.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, maintainable code and specifications, leading by example.
• Drive architectural decisions and contribute to the long-term technical strategy for AI/ML systems.
• Own the full lifecycle of AI/ML initiatives: problem definition, data exploration, agent development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Stay ahead of emerging AI/ML technologies and promote a culture of innovation and data-driven decision-making.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to management, stakeholders, and customers.
• Mentor and lead other engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Education: BS with 7+ years of experience or MS with 5+ years in Computer Science or similar field.
• Programming: 4+ years of experience in Python.
• Cloud Infrastructure: 4+ years with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (GCP is a plus).
• AI/ML Tech: 4+ years of hands-on experience with AI/ML infrastructure, tools, and platforms across the full stack.
• Leadership: 2+ years of experience in a team lead role.
• LLMs: 1+ years of experience leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Product Delivery: Proven track record of designing and delivering at least two complete AI products from ideation to release.
