Lead Advisor, Operator Communications
About the role
This role sits within Corporate Communications, which partners across the Chick-fil-A organization to execute effective, compelling internal communications that build culture, drive change, and support business goals. The team delivers strategic messages across a variety of digital, video, and print platforms to inspire, educate, and equip Chick-fil-A Operators and Support Center Staff.
Specifically, this individual will focus on consulting and collaborating with business leaders within several sub-departments of Chick-fil-A’s Field Operations and Restaurant Development organizations to create and execute communications strategies and tactics in support of Operators and Restaurants. Responsibilities include introducing new programs and solutions to Restaurants, creative storytelling to build understanding and trust, consulting on communications best practices, and sharing business strategy and vision with internal audiences. Additionally, the selected communicator will provide communications support for company-wide cultural events, including logistics, expectations, and access to key replays and resources.
To be successful in this role, the communicator must be resourceful, collaborative, and able to quickly learn the business, its audiences, and their needs.
Responsibilities
- Business partner: Provide leadership and strategic business thinking around key strategies and initiatives, connecting communications to enterprise strategies.
- Communications consulting: Build understanding of assigned teams and initiatives to effectively create communications plans, then execute tactics to help business partners and Operators achieve their goals.
- Project management/agency oversight: Create and execute major deadline-driven communications initiatives, on budget and on time, using appropriate combinations of vendors, contractors, agencies, and in-house services.
- Relationship builder: Establish and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with the Corporate Communications team, key business partners, and Operators.
- Audience: Understand Operator and Restaurant needs to tailor communications appropriately. Quarterly Restaurant visits are required, with reporting and applying key takeaways to work initiatives.
- Continuous improvement: Constant desire to learn how to improve work and translate communications into the fast-paced, rapidly growing Chick-fil-A business.
Requirements
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Creative storytelling: ability to develop innovative and engaging content and communications.
- Strategic communications planning and project management.
- Technological proficiency: experience with communications platforms and content management systems.
- Analytical skills: capacity to gather, analyze, and interpret data to measure effectiveness.
- Track record as a communicator who thrives on managing a variety of initiatives concurrently and on deadline.
- Self-starter able to work independently or in a group, adapt to shifting priorities, and who enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Communications or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- 10% travel required, including quarterly Restaurant visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of franchised and/or highly matrixed organizations.
- Experience in quick service, food and beverage, or hospitality industries.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or Business.
