Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the preoperative clinic, functioning as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Act as a liaison, mentor, and educator for other advanced practice providers, collaborating with departmental, divisional, and APP leadership.
  • Handle administrative and reporting responsibilities as assigned by the division.
  • Interact with the broader division workforce on issues related to advanced practice providers.
  • Assign mentoring responsibilities and serve as the designated expert for advanced practice within the division.
  • Provide clinical leadership and mentorship in matters relating to advanced practice and professional development of APRNs or PAs.
  • Serve as the liaison between APRNs/PAs and upper-level advanced practice management (Manager and Director).
  • Deliver healthcare services to patients within the parameters of a standard care agreement with an attending physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other clinicians to provide a full scope of patient care, focusing on preventive health or management of stable chronic conditions.
  • Perform medical services specifically authorized and directed by the credentialing and collaborative physician.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN-CNP in the State of Ohio.
  • Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing or Medicine.

Pay

USD $94,739.05 - USD $157,898.39 per year.
