About the role
As a Registered Nurse (RN) at UAB Medical West, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring that all patients receive the best possible treatment and support. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote health and wellness, while also addressing any medical concerns that arise. Additionally, you will be responsible for educating patients and their families about health management and preventive care. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to a safe and healthy work environment, enhancing the overall well-being of patients and their families.
$10,000 sign-on bonus
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and wellness strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
Preferred
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Skills
- Required: Strong clinical assessment abilities to evaluate patient health and develop care plans.
- Effective communication skills for educating patients and collaborating with the healthcare team.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address medical issues promptly and effectively.
- Organizational skills for maintaining accurate patient records and managing multiple patient care tasks.
- Preferred: Proficiency in EHR systems to document and access patient information efficiently.
