About the Role

The Lead Attendant coordinates and directs the daily activities of Attendants in Environmental Services. Accountable for moving, transporting, and/or handling hazardous waste within the facility. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Responsibilities

• Assists in supervision and coordination of assignments for Associates.
• Ensures continuity of quality service in the Supervisor’s absence.
• Moves, transports, and/or handles hazardous waste within the facility.
• Assists with controlling usage of supplies and dilution of chemicals.
• Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
• Explains and demonstrates policies and procedures to new and current Associates.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in housekeeping/environment services.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and follow written instructions.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities.
• Demonstrable leadership potential.
• Ability to maintain working relationships with co-workers.
• Ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple tasks, and maintain control of own and others' workflow.

Physical Demands

• Possible exposure to patient body fluids or hazardous and poisonous materials.
• Ability to react quickly in emergency situations.
• Ability to understand and communicate simple information orally and in writing.
• Normal vision, including color vision, to detect color-coded infection control stickers.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, squat, and kneel periodically throughout shift.
• Routine reaching and bending periodically throughout shift.
• Good physical coordination.
• Ability to grip and squeeze with repetitive hand and wrist motion periodically throughout shift.
