Qualifications
- Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have computer experience and be proficient in Google or Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with using a Macbook preferred
- Familiarity with Canva preferred
- Possesses a high level of interpersonal skills
- Professional telephone manner
- Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times
- Able to operate standard office equipment (e.g. copier, adding machine, fax, etc.)
- Uses appropriate grammar and syntax – verbal and written
- Completes fingerprinting process administered by district and passes background check prior to employment
- Fills out the Child Abuse Registry Check Form
Duties And Responsibilities
- Protects educational process at all times
- Keeps all information relating to school situations strictly confidential
- Performs general secretarial functions such as: copying, filing, mailing, faxing, letters, typing documents/memos, delivering mail, purchase order requests, etc.
- Answers telephone, takes and delivers messages to the appropriate people
- Accesses and navigates online early childhood education resources and websites to prepare hands-on learning activities approved by the Coordinator
- Maintains reliable transportation (travel is needed throughout the district at times)
- Remains flexible to attend and assist with occasional evening or after hour programs, family engagement events, and/or community activities (events will be scheduled well in advance with reasonable notice provided for planning and participation)
- Regular, dependable, in person attendance is an essential function of this position
- Fulfills all other functions related to the school office as designated by the Coordinator or Assistant Superintendent
- Maintains and accepts responsibility for any district owned fixed asset item assigned to employee and ensures appropriate use by following district policies for acceptable use
- Undergoes periodic evaluations according to state and board policy procedures
- Reads, understands, and abides by Employee Conduct Policy and all other district, state and federal policies, and procedures and protocols as established by LCSD and the Mississippi Educator Code of Conduct
