Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a small team, including the warehouse operator/driver, ensuring productivity, safety, and flexibility in covering all required tasks.
- Create work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance to meet operational needs.
- Train, coach, and evaluate employees while promoting an inclusive and efficient workplace culture.
- Enforce company policies and procedures while identifying operational improvements.
Inventory Control And Coordination
- Oversee inventory management systems to ensure accurate, real-time stock levels.
- Cook up receiving, storing, picking, and distribution activities to maintain an efficient flow of materials.
- Implement strategies to reduce errors, maximize space in a small footprint, and improve product handling.
- Conduct routine audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Customer Service
- Aid customers via phone, email, online channels, and in person, providing knowledgeable product information and solutions.
- Process and enter customer orders, ensuring accurate delivery timelines and proactive logistics coordination.
- Handle payments, resolve issues, and build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
- Recommend products and provide basic upselling based on customer needs.
Logistics & Shipment Management
- Ensure all orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
- Cook up delivery timelines with the warehouse operator/driver and external logistics partners.
- Oversee loading/unloading procedures, ensuring adherence to safety and product handling guidelines.
- Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packing lists according to company and regulatory requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the branch.
- Conduct regular safety checks, equipment inspections, and ensure proper maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) requirements.
- Provide safety training and enforce policies consistently.
Process Improvement & Cost Management
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce errors, minimize waste, and improve overall efficiency.
- Analyze operational data and prepare reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor daily operational expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or operations management, preferably within a small-branch or hands-on environment.
- Demonstrated success leading teams, optimizing operations, and maintaining a strong safety culture.
Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), Microsoft Office, and inventory tools.
- Understanding of inventory control, shipping/receiving processes, and warehouse workflow.
- Basic sales acumen with the ability to recommend and upsell products.
