About the role
The Associate Optometrist is a leader in the organization, delivering the brand promise and key results through collaboration and teamwork. You will ensure all patients receive the highest quality optometric care by performing clinical protocols while maximizing practice growth through strong partnership with the MOD, SMM, and store team. This role supports medical practice, referral care, and pre/post-op surgical support (if applicable).

- Convey a commitment to providing unsurpassed patient service by ensuring staff performs key service process steps:
- Make eyewear recommendations based on patients'/customers’ needs.
- Explain each step of the eye exam and listen carefully to patients/customers.
- Utilize available tools and visual aids to summarize and ensure patients understand their vision, eye health, and overall well-being.
- Communicate effectively the need for annual eye exams and ensure patients are appointed for their next exam.
- Address all patient/customer visual lifestyle needs, including medical and surgical recommendations (if applicable).
- Conduct services in line with protocol and standards of care; establish Doctor/Patient relationships.
- Ensure all patients receive accurate diagnosis and appropriate recommendations.
- Establish a positive Doctor/patient relationship.
- Utilize and leverage all technology to deliver unsurpassed patient/customer experiences.
- Maintain State Licensure in good standing and practice to the full scope of that license; responsible for maintaining Continuing Education requirements.
- Provide effective training and guidance to team members using Company-provided programs.
- Deliver clear, motivating, and constructive feedback in a timely manner to all associates.
- Create a positive culture linked to the corporate culture; identify what motivates each individual and direct conversations and actions appropriately.
- Encourage associate decision-making at the level closest to the patient.
- Maximize partnerships through leadership, participation, and involvement.
- Take pride in the appearance of the office.
- Maintain a safe working environment for all associates and patients.

Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry degree.
- Commitment to quality patient care.
- Knowledge of Medical Optometry, including Billing and Coding.
- Knowledge of Surgical Care and practices pertaining to Optometry.
- Knowledge of current Optometric theory and technology.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Solid organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Residency trained.
- Medical care experience.
- Advanced knowledge of surgical care and practices pertaining to Optometry.
Pay
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
