Responsibilities
- Accurately measure and cut raw materials, including prepregs, adhesives, and substrates.
- Perform hand layup of composite materials, including carbon fiber, aramid, fiberglass, honeycomb sandwich composites, and adhesives.
- Prepare metal and composite substrates through chemical etching, anodizing, and priming processes.
- Assist with vacuum bagging and autoclave curing operations.
- Maintain detailed and accurate production and project records.
- Work closely with engineers, scientists, and laboratory supervisors to meet customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment using "clean as you go" practices.
- Participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) reduction activities.
- Collaborate with team members to support laboratory operations and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- Experience working with composite materials and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of carbon fiber, fiberglass, aramid, prepregs, adhesives, and reinforcement technologies.
- Experience with composite panel fabrication, vacuum bagging, and autoclave curing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with laboratory documentation, databases, or manufacturing records is a plus.
- A continuous improvement mindset with an interest in Lean manufacturing principles.
Pay & Schedule
Up to $26.00 per hour (DOE)
Monday–Friday schedule with evenings free after your shift
