Job Summary

Acts as key technical and implementation source for Trimble for assigned projects and maintains effective relationships with design, project, and client teams. Provides guidance to Superintendents and Project Managers on the location of pipe systems, hangers, sleeves, underground piping, and many more while in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Trimble total station operation.
  • Complete understanding of job specs, schedule, and construction sequencing.
  • Possible CADD work involves the placing of Trimble points.
  • Aid in keeping the Trimble Manager in the loop on what is happening on site.
  • Maintain and file all jobs in organized folders.
  • Provide as-built points and DWG files back to coordination.
  • Provide Superintendents with locations of certain points in the field.
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
  • Makes any adjustments or changes necessary or desired.
  • Uses computer assisted drafting and design (CADD) equipment and software – Revit, AutoCAD MEP.

Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to operate and understand Trimble equipment.
  • Be capable of working in the field and performing field tasks when required to.
  • Ability demonstrates high level of MEP system knowledge, construction techniques and special awareness.
  • Knowledge of Trimble Total Stations and their abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine daily reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to construct informative and organized emails.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to learn and evolve with the progression of technology.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to perform 3D scans using Trimble.

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and the risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasional exposure to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions, including wet, humid, cold, or hot environments; and vibration.

  • Regular use of hands and arms for tasks requiring handling, reaching, and coordination, and engagement in a combination of standing, walking, sitting, and occasional postural movements such as bending, kneeling, crouching, or balancing.
  • Frequent verbal communication and the ability to hear.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds and may occasionally lift or move heavier items up to 100 pounds, with the ability to carry items for extended periods of time as needed.
