About the role

Under general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for an assigned number of patients. Patient assignments are adjusted based on census and staffing levels, and the nurse may rotate between day and night shifts, working up to 40 hours per week as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total patient care and education using the nursing process.
• Adjust patient assignments according to census and current staffing levels.
• Assist with orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel assigned to the unit.
• Function professionally and non‑defensively with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Document total care given, review and maintain patient charts per policy.
• Assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
• Work under the general supervision of the Ambulance Department Head, applying Pre‑Hospital and ACLS processes.

Requirements

• Current registered nurse (RN) licensure.
• Ability to work within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization.
• Must pass a pharmacology test for this position.
• Attendance at yearly mandatory education requirements is non‑negotiable; employee must arrange and attend sessions.

Schedule

Assigned up to 40 hours per week, with rotation between day and night shifts based on unit needs and staffing levels.
